Taylor-Swift

Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's had great success with the tales she recounts about her early heartbreak. Swift was a fan of the arts at a very young age, and quickly moved from roles in children's theatre and her first public appearance in front of the crowd of a thousand. As Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner in front of the Philadelphia 76ers at a game when she was 11 she had already begun composing songs. The next year she began playing guitar. Swift created original music which was influenced by country musicians such as Shania Twain (now known as the Chicks), and Dixie Chicks. Her material expressed Swift's feelings about tweens alienation. At the age of 13, Swift's parents sold their farm in Pennsylvania and moved into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time to wooing labels from the country in nearby Nashville.
